Today and on Thursday we listened to famous speeches in class. We listened/read speeches by famous leaders such as MLK Jr. and Malcom X. These were both speakers from the Civil Rights Movement. One of the more interesting discussions that we had in class was the difference between *Effective* leaders and *Ethical* leaders. This brought us to the conclusion that ethical leaders have "universal morals". But what are universal morals. I personally think that one of the definitions that can be used to define it would be what most know as The Golden Rule. Do on to others as you would have done onto yourself. Or a different variation that I feel would be more appropriate for the situation would be: A universal moral could be a moral that you wouldn't mind having someone else do to you. What this really reminds me of is the saying honor among thieves. The reason that this saying comes into my head is because I think of a movie that I have watched before. What this movie revolves around is that even these "thieves" have morals. The main characters are English assassins, when the main character accidentally shoots a child while on a job, he now has to be killed. This is because their league of assassins have one of few morals being that you absolutely can NOT kill a child, and they would take your life for it, even if it was an accident. What do you think?

Because I Love Soccer
That black and white ball. A familiar friend to me since I was 6. One way that I have described soccer to a friend is when I said, "It's hard to do a Maradona when you have a whole other team of determined players running at you at top speed." Or rather running at that black and white ball that is resting next to your feet in those few seconds when your mind is searching for a way to penetrate that line of people ahead of you. They are sprinting, ready to attack that ball, going after it likes it's signed by the whole Arsenal team, Beckham, Mia Hamm, and Pele. That's what soccer's about, your mind flashing back to that one camp instructor with the weird accent. The one who taught you how to do that Maradona (he called it "walking on water"). When you finish doing that fancy move and you get past what before seemed like an impossible army of uniformed people. You then are rushing towards the goal before they can catch up. You get that indescribable, overwhelming feeling deep in your bones of accomplishment. All those years of coaches instructing you, all of your gathered information, all of it flashing in your mind. Your muscle memory taking control. This is why I love soccer. There is mud all over me. My water bottle is calling to me. The pain of all the running is inside of me... The need to keep running is burning deep within me. People are kicking at me. My shins are sore. My coaches are yelling at me. My knees are skinned and bleeding. The ref is against me. Yet I keep going... Because I love soccer.

Yellow Journalizm
Yellow Journalizm-
One example of yellow journalizm that I can think of most recently is yesterday actualy. In Mr. Tupper's class we were whatching the tv and a station was informing us that the polls in that particular state were leaning Obama- 49% 51%. When in fact the poles were 49% 49% with 2% undicided, as Mr. T then told us. It made me wonder why they would do that...? To make the McCain voters in that state hurry out to vote? To try and persuade veiwers that Obama was going to win? Or did they just get false information? What do you think, post a comment:

Week High[s] :) Thursday I went shopping with friends! On Friday I went T or' T with lots of friends and hung out afterwards. On Saturday I had a really fun soccer game against/with friends, and we won!
Week Low :( On Thursday night I had to stay up late working on my S.S. board.
Question ? Why don't humans shed their hair like other species. ex: even some trees shed their bark.
* Goal * My goal for this week is to not be stressed, and if I am, to be calm.
Last weeks~ I did not compleate my goal for last week. As you can tell from my week low...
